“The Hype” began life as a club night and continues to pull massive crowds at their Belgian home, “Club Illusion”.  Continuing their ethos for first class, high quality music, they formed their own label, The Hype Records in 2007 to feature not only internationally established artists but also the cream of new talent.  Since it was founded the label has celebrated three Top 10 hits, and a no.1 in the Belgium Dance charts.

In the early 90's Alberto Santos aka Santos Martinez first discovered his passion for electronic music.  After visiting some great clubs and parties he kitted himself out with DJ gear and went to the local record shop to buy his first vinyl.  After that there was no turning back, and while DJing across Benelux he also began to experiment with music software and synthesizers.

Today we present you with the debut release from Santos Martinez, ‘Hijo de la Luna’.

The release contains his own progressive rendition of the Mecano classic ‘Hijo de la Luna’ (written by J.M. Cano, with production & additional arrangement by Santos Martinez), as well as a remix and radio edit from The Hype Records’ own Jan Vervloet.  Also featured are two original pieces from Santos Martinez, the big-room sounds of ‘Argonautica’ and ‘June’, making this not only a great starter for his first release but also shows plenty of musical promise for the future.
