TRACKLISTING:

1. GRAY MATTER

2. A TRACK FOR DANGER

3. BACK TO THE FRONT

Following on from his ‘This Is Not Scary EP’ (MXTR007), Mixtape Records welcomes back the talented and respected producer James Hammer with ‘Gray Matter EP’.

Hailing from the art & cultural US hub of Minneapolis, James Hammer’s previous releases and remixes have appeared on global labels such as Relief, Reldz, Faction, Impact Mechanics, Naked Lunch and Dirty Planet.

The inexorable ‘Gray Matter’ kicks off the EP, with it’s slamming drive and striking off-kilter melody, and you know James Hammer means business right away.  ‘A Track For Danger’ follows, weaving between its old-skool synths, hypnotic vox and an unmistakable jackin’ groove.  While ‘Back To The Front’ is just that – tweaked, twisted and warped for those nighttime stompers.

Next up, MXTR016 will see the return of another Mixtape regular, Gus Brown.
